Project "Zero"

Project “Zero” was commissioned by designer Mami Nagase, executed in collaboration with composer/artist Dave Koenig.  Electronic sensors and ultrasound transducers are used to convert Mami’s physical artifacts into sound, voltages and data, which together generate and modulate the resulting sound and visual output. The visual translation is pre-programmed react to the data input, as opposed to the sonic manipulation which is purely improvisational. The images and sounds are projected onto Mami and her white suit, i.e. a blank canvas, designed by her for the project. The image and the sonic experience are then used to inspire the pattern print for the suit.  This project can be performed live.
